Mendip Construction (SW) Ltd are located in the Nailsea near Clevedon, Portishead, Weston-super-Mare and Bristol.

We specialise in all areas of general building, including but not limited to new build domestic properties, house extensions, home renovation and home developments.

Mendip Construction can carry out all types of building projects, from small remedial building and maintenance works, right through to newly built homes, from start to finish.

Bolstered by over 30 years of experience, Mendip Construction is built firmly on its reputation and strives to complete all of its projects to the highest of standards. Dale Sutor

Company Owner

After leaving school, Dale studied at the City of Bristol College taking a BTEC National Diploma in Science before starting out in the workplace. This has included working in the double-glazing industry as a window and door installer, uPVC window and door fabricator along with involvement with ordering processing and liaison with trade customers within the business. Dale has also worked within the floor screeding industry, working on some notable projects, namely Broadmoor Hospital, Berkshire, Emirates Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth, and also Her Majesty’s Naval Base, Portsmouth.

Within this time Dale has also gained experience working alongside family members who are qualified plumbers, heating engineers, electricians, carpenters and joiners. Dale joined the police service within Avon & Somerset in 2005 where he was employed as a custody detention officer, leaving in 2016 where he joined Virgin Media as an Access Field Technician prior to leaving to form Mendip Construction (SW) Ltd with Grant.

Dale enjoys spending time with his young family, cycling, fishing, and socialising with his friends. He’s tried to play football over the years (badly) which has always given his friends great amusement!

Grant Brailsford

Company Owner

Following school, Grant at studied at the City of Bristol College, completing a public services course before staring out in the workplace within the public entertainment sector, before leaving to become a postman for Royal Mail. Throughout this time Grant was learning the building trade from members of his family.

After his time with Royal Mail Grant left to learn plastering and became a sole trader within the building industry, following also becoming a skilled general builder and site manager for small and medium sized projects.

Grant has worked throughout the South West of England and has been involved predominately within the domestic construction industry, but has also worked on large scale commercial projects. Grant has in excess of 17 years’ experience within the industry, and in that time he has developed wide ranging skills within the trade including project management, project estimating, and working to tight budgets set.

In Grant’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his young family, cycling, socialising with his friends, and going to watch his beloved team (Manchester United) whenever he can, and unlike Dale, he’s able to knock a ball around!
